Public Environmental Review – Koolyanobbing Range F Deposit

We are very pleased to advise that our Environmental Impact Assessment (Public Environmental Review) document for Cliffs’ Koolyanobbing Range F Deposit iron ore project has now been released for public review, available from Cliffs’ website.

The project will form a southerly extension to Cliffs’ approved Koolyanobbing Range mine operations, expected to yield an estimate 9million tonnes of iron ore having a gross economic value of approximately A$500million.

A key part of the environmental assessment for this project is the effect to the Rare Flora taxon Tetratheca erubescens.  The various studies completed for this taxon include a population census, genetic assessment, habitat assessment, and an assessment of the effect of the project using the IUCN criteria.

Many thanks to all of Cliffs’ staff and the range of supporting consultants who have helped us over the past ~5 years …including Bamford Consulting Ecologists, Bennelongia Environmental Consultants, Biota Environmental Sciences, Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, Maia Environmental Consultancy, MWH Global, Woodman Environmental Consulting & CAD Resources.

Happy reading 🙂
