Stuart Hawkins has worked in a range of environmental roles spanning >20 years, including Government environmental regulation / enforcement, project approvals for mining and water and infrastructure projects, and university education/research.

Since establishing Globe Environments in 2008, Stuart’s professional work has largely focused on project management, environmental impact assessment and government approvals for large-scale mining, infrastructure and land development projects valued at > A$10 billion.  Clients/consultancies for this work have included BHP, South32, FMG, Hancock Prospecting, Mineral Resources, Rio Tinto, Cliffs APIO, Covalent Lithium, Mt Gibson Mining, Main Roads, Advisian, Aurecon, GHD, and WSP.

Stuart is a specialist in obtaining approvals under both State and Commonwealth legislation, including Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA), Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (C’th), Mining Act 1978 (WA), Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (WA) and the Rights in Water and Irrigation Act 1914 (WA). This includes complex assessment of impacts to protected terrestrial ‘Threatened’ and ‘Priority’ flora taxa, fauna taxa and ecological communities.  Stuart has additionally peer-reviewed multiple biological surveys, environmental management and offset plans to accompany Government assessments/approvals.
