E Deposit receives Government approval

We are very pleased to advise that the DMP has now granted approval of the Mining Proposal and Clearing Permit for the development of the Koolyanobbing Range E Deposit in Western Australia.

The E Deposit is located at Cliffs Asia Pacific Iron Ore Pty Ltd’s Koolyanobbing Range mine operations, approximately 50km north-north-east of Southern Cross in the Shire of Yilgarn.  The E Deposit is expected to yield an estimated 1.1 million tonnes of iron ore having a gross economic value of approximately A$60million.

Development of the E Deposit will commence during Q3 2016, and will form an important operational extension to the existing Koolyanobbing Range mine operations, which currently include the A, B, C, D and K Deposits.

Globe Environments has worked with Cliffs on the E Deposit Project since 2012, commencing with the coordination of environmental surveys for flora and vegetation, vertebrate fauna, invertebrate fauna, subterranean fauna, groundwater, and soil and waste rock characterization.  Following, Globe Environments drafted both the Mining Proposal application under the Mining Act 1978 (WA) and the Clearing Permit application under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA).  Globe Environments also drafted the Exploration Environmental Management Plan to enable further resource drilling under the Mining Act 1978 (WA).

Globe Environments congratulates Cliffs on achieving this milestone, and we look forward to seeing development of this important strategic project.
